flesh counts for nothing.
- John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
For the last several months, our family has been praying for God’s direction and seeking His person. We want to know Him rightly, we want to be in fellowship with Him, and want to believe that
- He is really alive
- That He is really active
- that He really loves us
Over the past several months, we’ve been fixing up our house for a potential sale, witnessing to friends, neighbors and strangers, and now we’ll have 3 families living under our room. Simultanuesly.
God: what are you up to?
I want my eyes of faith opened to see what God is doing around me. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. [Hebrews 11:6~ And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.]
On the road to Emmaus, the travelers did not recognize Christ. They stopped looking for Him. They were wondering if the reports could be real, but they had not fully embraced the reports. They didn’t have faith that Jesus was the Son of the Living God. Jesus came and walked with them for a while, and they didn’t recognize Him. They were confused, because they assumed much about what the Messiah would do for them, but were so set on what their plans were, they couldn’t really see Jesus.
- Luke 24 ~ “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. 22 In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23 but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive.
I’m asking for my eyes of faith to be opened today. In my flesh, I would look at a house full of 3 families (7 adults, 1 teenager, and 7 children) and say: “This is nuts”. and it is. But, with eyes of faith, I know that God is answering my prayers. He is up to something, and the something is going to be good. He’s an excellent cook, and I believe He’s throwing us into a wonderful stew.
He is the author and perfecter of my faith [Hebrews 12:2]. I believe He is turning the page and writing a new chapter in our lives. I am so excited to see what the next page holds. He wrote stories about guys like David, Samuel, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Abraham, John, Saul, Peter. He’s a REALLY good writer. Those stories are not boring, at all.
I believe HE REALLY loves me, and He is writing a really good story. Help my eyes not to be closed to what He is doing. Help me see and enjoy each step of this journey, each word on this page. I love you, Jesus.
